Tom James Company “We Come to You®” Approach Unique for Custom Suits

Tom James Company, the world's largest manufacturer and direct retailer of custom men's clothing, is experiencing record growth. In a market where innovation is often found tied to an internet initiative, Tom James' focus on 'We Come to You' service continues to prove high-touch is still very important to today's customers.

"Our customer is busy," said Todd Browne, President of Tom James. "He or she wants to look fantastic in their professional or casual wear, but does not have the time – nor the interest – in shopping. We strike that item off their to-do list."

The sales model Tom James chose back in 1966 was to offer this service face to face in the client's home or office. That personal service is the hallmark of what they do.

"Busy professionals do not want to shop," says Browne. "They do not want to measure themselves. They do not want to click through hundreds of online choices. They want expert advice and they want clothing solutions that are quick, discreet and allow them to get back to their life's purpose. And we are happy to oblige by providing that service."

"'We Come to You?' is so much our hallmark that we've registered the phrase," says Director of Marketing, Michele Stephens. "We've lived that model since 1966. women's coats We were first to do it and we do it best."

Tom James clothier for 30 years, Jim Poston, a Division Vice President of Tom James from Greenville, SC says, "When a guy heads out to buy a suit at a department store, he might find it difficult to get someone who cares about serving him."

"If he finds a suit he likes in his size, he stands for the alterations, and then has to come back in a week or two to pick up his suit," said Poston. "We can short-cut that process."

"We meet our clients at their convenience. We gain an understanding of what our clients like and need and, once the pattern is established, we can select fabric and details and be on our way in just a few minutes. Then we deliver the clothing in person to ensure everything is right. It really is a world class experience."

Often, Browne says, if a company says it operates using old-fashioned standards of personal contact, it's to mask the fact they've not embraced today's world. "Nothing could be farther from the truth with Tom James," he said.

"Our clothiers are armed with iPads to assist them in everything from showing garments to processing orders," said Browne. "Technology is our friend. We just use it to assist the process, saving time for our customers."

It's technology that seeks to not only save time, but give a professional great confidence about their appearance. Poston commented, "Most men are not extremely confident picking out clothing, especially accessories. We bring a knowledge that eliminates the question men often ask, 'Honey, does this go together?'"

Another unique factor is that Tom James owns the factories that make their garments. They own the mills that make the cloth, and they actually employ the people who construct their garments. Most retail establishments cannot say that.

"It's said that imitation is the highest form of flattery," said Steve Nucci, Division President for Tom James. "There are imitators of what we do, but none of them have the depth of clothing knowledge or the control over the construction of their garments. Over 95% of our product is made in the United States by facilities that we own and not sourced overseas."

"We make more custom suits and more custom shirts than anyone in the business."

Tom James offers a full array of professional clothing for both men and women as well as sportswear and accessories. "We offer everything in a man's closet," said Ashley Johnson, a Tom James clothier in Nashville, TN. "It's really a full service approach. And we're a sportswear and custom source for ladies wear, as well."

With literally hundreds of fabric choices, Tom James clients can dress like no one else – another factor that makes them unique. Their clothiers can offer everything from entry level off the rack suits to a truly bespoke product like Oxxford Clothes.

"It's America's iconic brand," said Browne. "Oxxford Clothes is the last 'made-by-hand' suit in the US. Tom James Company owns Oxxford and we can offer it to our clients."

A visit to their website http://www.tomjames.com reveals hundreds of Tom James Reviews. With categories like Fit, Convenience, Service, Value and Expertise, one gets the impression their clients have come to rely on a service that isn't found anywhere else.

While Tom James in enjoying 46 years in the custom suit business, the company name itself is not widely known.

"We don't advertise," said Director of Marketing, Michele Stephens. "If you've heard of us, it's because one of our clothiers has reached out to you, or one of your friends has recommended our services. But you've seen our garments on actors and athletes the world over. Our clothing is our best advertisement. Once you've experienced custom, it's hard to go back to off the rack."

Combine that quality with the personal service, says Browne, "and it's hard to beat the options we provide."

Tom James, buoyed by a 10% growth in 2011, currently has 470 clothiers and is in expansion plans. They are hiring for 65 locations within the United States and internationally and recently opened an office in Dubai.

They also were joined by the largest direct sales women's clothing company in the nation – Carlisle-Etcetera. Tom James Company owns half interest, along with Royal Spirit of Hong Kong, in the company. The acquisition forms the largest direct sales clothing company, internationally.

Tom James operates 105 offices in 36 US states and 5 countries. It owns and operates 3 worsted woolen mills, 8 tailoring facilities and factories and is proud to say 95% of its finished clothing products are made in the USA.

The 5 Languages of Appreciation in the Workplace to be Sent to Donors Providing Loans of $25 or More for Entrepreneurs in Developing Countries

Donors giving $25 or more to World Vision Micro will receive a free copy of The 5 Languages of Appreciation in the Workplace, a book that helps workers communicate appreciation to their colleagues in meaningful ways.

Authored by Dr. Gary Chapman and Dr. Paul White, the book was recently named one of the top 50 new management books for entrepreneurs.

"A donation to World Vision Micro helps start or expand a business for a hard-working person in a developing country," says White, a psychologist, author, speaker, and business consultant. "Our book helps you take practical steps to make any workplace environment more encouraging and productive."

Both the microloan and White's book empower entrepreneurs, b women's jackets ut in different ways.

Recipients of World Vision Micro are typically women who do not have collateral or a credit history to secure a traditional loan. For example, Jacqueline became the sole provider for her family in Rwanda after her husband, a soldier, was killed. Life got even worse for the widowed mother of five when she lost her teaching job.

"That's when we heard about (World Vision Micro) giving small loans," she says.

With a loan and business training, Jacqueline opened a restaurant along with two other widows. It quickly became the most popular eatery in town.

"Because of the loan, my children have food to eat," Jacqueline says. "They have clothes. They go to school. Our community is really happy."

The workplace community at the Canadian Red Cross in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, has also seen its happiness grow. It increased employees' understanding of each other with The 5 Languages of Appreciation in the Workplace.

April McBride, a Canadian Red Cross community services coordinator, introduced the book and its lessons as part of an office wellness program.

When McBride first explained what she was doing, there were a few grumbling comments, including, "I hope this doesn't take long." But that soon changed.

McBride gave everyone his or her own code, which comes with the book. She then sent them back to their computers to take the online "Motivating By Appreciation Inventory." The 15-minute test assessed individuals' preferences for how they are best encouraged and feel appreciated at work.

The results identified each person's primary and secondary "language" in the workplace among five possibilities:

-- Words of affirmation
-- Quality time
-- Acts of service
-- Tangible gifts
-- Physical touch

Each person received a nine-page document describing the results of their individual inventory. It included tips on how team members can encourage an employee in his or her primary language. For example, a person whose primary language is "acts of service" will feel more appreciated if he or she receives help accomplishing tasks that will assist in getting a project done more quickly.

Information from the individual inventories was put into an office profile available to everyone. McBride says those initially skeptical employees became quite animated and enthusiastic when they learned how knowledge of a colleague's primary language could help energize and motivate them.

The book uses symbols to designate each primary language. McBride cut out, laminated, and posted the symbols on the office door of each employee.

"When you see the symbol it's just a quick reminder," says McBride. "If you know, for example, that `words of affirmation' is a person's language you might give a few kind words, even if it feels a little awkward at first. It's not rocket science but it is effective and it's very easy to apply."

The MBA Inventory showed McBride's primary language is "quality time." This helped her understand why she feels so valued as a person and as an employee when her supervisor stops by her office to talk for a few minutes.

McBride and other employees scoring high for "quality time" now eat lunch together at least twice a week.

"We now know that's what builds us up," says McBride. "It's about being intentional with each other."

Overall, McBride sees increased harmony and satisfaction in her workplace. "The rewards and benefits of this will be long lasting," she says.

"I wish every workplace had this. People would want to go to work. People would be more productive and excited about different tasks. They would feel motivated."

Separation Anxiety In Dogs

Separation anxiety is one of the most common problems that dogs develop. Its an anxiety disorder, and is defined as a state of intense panic brought on by the dogs isolation or separation from her owner. In other words, when you leave for work in the morning, your dog is plunged into a state of nervous anxiety which intensifies extremely quickly. Dogs are social animals they need plenty of company and social interaction to keep them happy and content. No dog likes to be left alone for long stretches of time, but some dogs do a lot worse than others and these are the ones most prone to separation anxiety. There are a number of contributing causes to the condition.

Some breeds are genetically predisposed towards anxiety and insecurity, which is something you should consider when deciding which breed you are going to go for particularly if you are going to be absent for long stretches of time. A few of these breeds include Weimaraners, Springer Spaniels, German Shepherds, and Airedales. A significant proportion of dogs from shelters develop separation anxiety. Most of these shelter dogs have undergone significant trauma in their lives they have been abandoned by their previous owners and thus they have little trust that their new found owner.

Dogs that were separated from their mothers and siblings too early have been identified as being especially prone to separation anxiety. Puppies from pet stores are a perfect example of this. They are usually taken from their mothers well before the earliest possible age which is 8 weeks, and confined to a small glass box in the pet store for anywhere between a few weeks to two months. This early weaning, coupled with the lack of exercise and affection while in the pet store, is psychologically traumatic for the dog.

Neglect is the number one cause of sepration anxiety for dogs. If you are absent much more than you are present in your dogs life, separation anxiety is pretty much inevitable. Your dog needs your company, affection, and attention in order to be happy and content. The symptoms of separation anxiety are pretty distinctive. Your dog will usually learn to tell when you are about to leave, she wll hear keys jingling, will see you putting on your outdoor clothes, and will become anxious. She may follow you from room to room, whining, trembling, and crying. Some dogs even become aggressive, in an attempt to stop their owners from leaving.

When you have left, the anxious behavior will rapidly worsen and usually will peak within half an hour. She may bark incessantly, scratch and dig at windows and doors, an attempt to escape from confinement and reunite herself with you, chew inappropriate items, even urinate and defecate inside the house. In extreme cases, she might self mutilate by licking or chewing her skin until its raw, or pulling out fur or will engage in obsessive compulsive behaviors, like spinning and tail chasing.

Upon your return, she will be excessively excited, and will leap around you in a frenzy of delight for a protracted period of time more than the 30 seconds to one minute of a happy, well balanced dog. This extended greeting is a source of some misunderstanding without realizing that such a greeting actually signifies the presence of a psychological disorder, some owners actually encourage their dog to get more and more worked up upon their return by fuelling the dogs excitement, encouraging her to leap around, paying her protracted attention, and so on.

If you are behaving in this way with your dog, please stop. I know its tempting and very easy to do, and it seems harmless after all, she is so happy to see you, what harm c women's jackets an it do to return her attention and affection in equal measure? but in actuality, you are just validating her belief that your return is the high point of the day. So she is as happy as Larry when you return but, when its time for you to leave again, her now exaggerated happiness at your presence is under threat, and she gets even more unhappy when you walk out that door. Fortunately, there are things you can do to minimize your dogs tendency towards anxiety. Here is a short list of what to do.

Do exercise the heck out of her. Really wear her out, the longer you expect to be away, the more exercise she should get before you leave. For example, if you are leaving for work in the morning, she will probably be by herself for at least four hours and, if you have got a dog walker to take her out mid day instead of coming back yourself, she will not see you, the person she really cares about for at least nine hours. So she needs a good, vigorous walk fifteen to twenty minutes is the absolute minimum here, before you walk out that door. More is even better.

Distract her from her boredom, loneliness, and anxiety by giving her an attractive alternative to pining, pacing, and whining. All dogs love to chew, why not play on this predisposition? Get a couple of marrowbones from the butcher, bake them in the oven for 20 minutes so they go nice and hard and crunchy and so she can not smear marrow all over your furniture, slice them up into chunks of a few inches long, and give her one about 15 minutes before you leave. It will keep her happy and occupied, and will act as a smokescreen for your departure.

When you leave, put the radio on to a soothing station, classical music is ideal, but any station featuring lots of talk shows is also ideal. Keep the volume quite low, and it will calm her down a bit and give her the feeling that she has got company. If at all possible, supply her with a view. If she can see the world going by, thats the next best thing to being out and about in it.

Acclimatize her to your leaving. Taking things nice and slowly, practice getting ready to go, jingle your keys about, put on your coat, and open the door. Then without leaving sit back down and do not go anywhere. Do this until shes not reacting any more. When there are no reaction, give her a treat and lavish praise for being so brave. Next, practice actually walking out the door and returning immediately, again doing this until there are no reaction. Gradually work up, gradually being the operative word here until you are able to leave the house with no signs of stress from her.

Do not act overtly sympathetic when she is crying. Although it sounds very cold hearted, trying to soothe and comfort your dog by patting her and cooing over her is actually one of the worst things you can do. Its essentially validating her concern. Make sure she can not tell that you feel sorry for her, do not ever say, its ok, good girl when she is upset.

Who Is My Hero

Bombs exploded across the night sky lighting up the world with hot fiery bursts of red. A loud sonic boom awakened the sleeping people to the reality of war.

Fear perpetrated the hearts of those who were not prepared. Horror lined the faces of those who survived the first attack. Terror overwhelmed their thoughts because it was only a matter of time and their lives would soon be over.

The Lord God Almighty looked down upon the ragging firestorm and took flight into the night air abandoning the perfection of Heaven to fight for the children He loved. God strapped on His sword of righteousness and waged a great battle against the evil serpent of the world.

The Devil incited evil people with a plan to destroy goodness from the world. Their bombs pelted every good country destroying those who fought for justice. Burning up lands and kingdoms for the sake of conquest.

The people cried out in one voice, pleads for a Savior to defeat the Devil's rampage on the earth. They shouted all in unison, the question, "Who Is My Hero? Who can save us from the anti-Christ?"

Isaiah 59: 14&15a, "Justice is driven away, and right cannot come near. Truth stumbles in the public square, and honesty finds no place there. There is so little honesty that anyone who stops doing evil finds himself the victim of crime."

The bombs threaten extinction of all human life. The murderous threats of evil explode igniting fighting on every single shore. No one is safe, cry the people. No one is able to defend his house from the ravages of war.

The people cry out all in unison, "Who Is My Hero? Who will save us from the Anti-Christ?"

Isaiah 59: 15a-18, "The Lord has seen this, and he is displeased that there is no justice. He is astonished to see that there is no one to help the oppressed. So he will use his own power to rescue them and to win the victory. He will wear justice like a coat of armor and saving power like a helmet. He will clothe himself with the strong desire to set things right and to punish and avenge the wrongs that people suffer. He will punish his enemies according to what they have done, even those who live in distant lands."

Every house was abandoned. Every church was destroyed. Every person in all the nations of the world, left to flee and find cover in caves found high in the mountains and hills.

All trembled at the sounds of battle that ragged around the countries destroying all earthly good from the world. School buses were exploding and schools were crumbling as the fighting grew more and more fierce.

All justice was ended. All courthhouses destroyed. All governments demolished from the unending bombs that threatened to fatten the world.

The people trembled and they all cried out in unison, "Who is my Hero? Who will save us from the evil serpent of this world?"

Isaiah 63: 1-5, "'Who is this coming from the city of Bozrah in Edom? Who is this so splendidly dressed in red, marching along in power and strength?'
It is the Lord, powerful to save, coming to announce his victory.
'Why is his clothing so red, like that of a man who tramples grapes to make wine?'
The Lord answers, 'I have trampled the nations like grapes, and no one came to help me. I trampled them in my anger, and their blood has stained all my clothing. I decided that the time to save my people had come; it was time to punish their enemies. I was amazed when I looked and saw that there was no one to help me. But my anger made me strong, and I won the victory myself.'"

The people rejoiced as the bombs ended and the earth took on a more glories form. The Lord most High had come down from Heaven women's jackets to save them from the evil serpents power.

God's Magnificent strength filled the lands of the world once again with justice, truth and hope. Jesus ruled the countries with love. He reached down to every single person and wiped away their tears.

Families once again flourished in peace and safety. Godly children with moral convictions arise bringing joy to their parents. People lived long lives unafraid of sickness and disease.

All weapons of war were stock-piled and burned. All bombs defused. All forms of hate ended.

The people rejoiced and sang praises. All children of the earth celebrated the triumph of the Lord's mighty battle on the earth.

They all shouted in unison, "The Lord God Almighty Is My Hero!"

Blue Coast Churches & Chapels in Bareirro, Alentejo, Portugal

The origins of Barreiro are linked to the Monks of the Order of Santiago. From the XVI century, the township was born and Palhais (presently a tiny suburb) was the centre of it.

The geographical position was important and contributed to the growth of the area. Ship-building and biscuit- making for the long sea-journeys were industries directly related to the Portuguese Maritime Expansion adventure.

At the same time the land was fertile, just like in Seixal, which meant that the area around Lavradio witnessed the building of several impressive agricultural farms.

In 1860 when Setubal was elevated to the status of city, the train line linking this town to Lisbon and then later on the south of the country, brought benefits to Barreiro which, in the XX century has become one of the most important Portuguese industrial centres. In the fifteen hundreds it was promoted to town and finally to city in 1984.

Palhais and Barreiro.
Palhais possesses an excellent Manueline church dedicated to Nossa Senhora da Graca which was founded following a tradition set by Paulo da Gama. Some alterations were made inside and there is no distinction between the main altar and the aisle:

Both are housed in a large room with side chapels in the transeptal tradition. The church is Manueline in style bu women's coats t had some Renaissance restoration done on it at the end of the XVI century.

The tiles on the walls are green and white chequered. In the aisle, two lateral chapels are Gothic in style with domes that tell us a lot about the architectural trends.

Even though it has kept its original simple Manueline portal - wooden door surmounted by plant and geometrical motifs, with a coat of arms in the centre - slight changes have been made to the facade but which have not demaged the harmony of the building, the first building seen so far which has not been tampered with in the fury of post-earthquake rebuilding.

Following through to Barreiro, we stop at the Parish Church of Nossa Senhora do Rosario. This magnificent monument of large proportions was built towards the end of the XVIII century.

The facade with its two bell towers sports interesting inscriptions about Our Lady under the various windows, framed either ovally or square and alongside the main door.

One of the most interesting engravements is the following, written in ancient Portuguese:

From the city of shelter
To the fortress tower
She rules heaven and earth
She rules all of Nature.

This temple, of huge proportions, was once a very small chapel dedicated to S. Pedro which was destroyed in 1755. Inside there is one very wide aisle, the ceiling above is painted and the lateral walls covered with blue and white tiles from the XVIII century.

The main altar possesses a fine altar piece of golden woodcarving and the walls are covered in tiles depicting the evangelists. The church has not been used as place of worship since 1910 yet paintings may still be found there, one may suppose a tiny part of the original contents.

The churches of Santa Cruz and Misericordia may also be visited, however the various remodelling that has gone on over the centuries has contributed to a decharacterization of the original building.

They are both more valuable seen from outside in the urban surroundings, turning them more picturesque, rather than exploring the inside.

Ways To Decorate For The Seasons

The trick to decorating for the seasons is to try to match the mood of the season through color and style. Spring is considered a fresh and alive season that does well with pastels and symbols of new birth. Summer is considered the height of abundance and you can decorate with lots of colors while keeping thinks airy for those hot, sweltering days. Fall demands the leaf colors like orange, red, and brown. It?€?s a time to get ready for the coming of winter. Winter is obviously more drab and women's coats somber with grays, dark shades of blues and reds being favored. It also is about nesting to make things feel warm and cozy too.

Spring

Everyone does a little spring-cleaning when the mood hits us. We know it by the birds chirping and the daffodils flowering. The thick furnishings of winter are replaced by lighter versions and pastel colors. This includes the covers on your bed, curtains, and the towels in the bathroom and kitchen. The windows that stayed shut all winter long might be pried open with herbs being placed along the sill in preparation for summer.

Summer

Summer has some great holidays and activities. Fourth of July and Labor Day are great decorating favorites. They use strong colors and vivid shades. Candles might be changed out to thin tapers from large candlesticks. Flowers are brought into the home as natural decorating elements. Area rugs might be picked up to let the wood floors have their day. Fans are moved in place and glassware becomes more visible, not just for flower vases, but for that cool drink with ice.

Fall

Fall has tons of decorating potential from all the natural materials available. One can use the squashes, dried corn on the cob, and fallen pinecones to make centerpieces or hanging accents or wreaths. Colors turn to shades of orange, red, and brown. Pumpkins appear at this time of year too. The bed coverings are changed out and coat or umbrella stands might reappear.

Winter

Winter means clearing out all the summer and fall clutter for a more serene winter landscape. The fireplace can become a big focal point in winter and changing out the mantle place decorations is very appropriate. Add lamps to your rooms if the winter sun isn?€?t enough to read by. Rearrange the furniture to make it cozy and inviting. Add books to your rooms. Paint a wall a darker color. Change the slipcover on your sofa to something more durable and softer. Add some throw blankets and pillows.

If you are following a seasonal palette and decorating scheme, you can still mix in out-of-season items with in-season items to add a quirky touch of fun. Adding an indoor herb garden or bringing your garden statues inside in the winter is one way to lighten the winter mood. Adding a shot of black to your spring colors might be considered interesting. Just remember that decorating is all about fun and your own personality. Any framework, whether it is seasonal or holiday decorating just helps to guide you to find your own unique expression in decorating.

Discover The Easiest , Hassle Free Way To Decorate A Cake

The easiest way to decorate a sponge cake is to place a paper doily on top of the cake and sprinkle icing sugar through a sieve. But like everything else, to do with cake decorating there is a right and wrong way! First make sure the cake is flat. If not cut away the curved surface, upturn the cake and use the base as the top. Spoon icing sugar into a fine nylon sieve – away from the cake – then hold over the cake, and gently tap the side of the sieve to distribute a fine layer of sugar over the cake. Remove the doily very carefully.

Alternatively, cover the top of the cake with icing and tie a wide band of ribbon around the sides. This is a quick way to make a cake look special. If the cake covering is either marzipan or sugarpaste (roll-out icing) the edge of the icing can be crimped. Crimpers are cake decorating tools, rather like tweezers with decorative ends. They are used on soft coverings to make various patterns and are a quick and effective way of decorating cakes, even wedding cakes.

If marzipan is popular, use it to completely cover a cake. After crimping around the top edge, decorate the top of the cake with colourful marzipan fruits.

Iced cakes need a decoration at the base – between the cake and board. This usually consists of a piped border, but a band of ribbon around the base of the cake looks just as good, particular if it blends in with the cake decorations. Another base border is to make a long, narrow roll of sugarpaste or marzipan. Stick the roll along the base of the cake and use crimpers to make a pattern.

Glace icing is well known as a quick coating for a cake. Instead of making this type of icing with water, use egg white instead. Icing made with egg whites is thick and very white. Just froth the white up slightly and gradually add icing sugar until the right consistency. Test this by dropping a spoonful of icing back into the bowl. The mark it makes should disappear within a moment or two.

Buttercream is another quickly applied icing. But make sure it is soft enough (like beaten double cream) otherwise it will pull crumbs from the surface of the cake. The safest way to make sure this does not happen is to cover the cake with a thin layer of melted jam. Leave it in the fridge for an hour, and then coat with buttercream.

There are lots of cutters around now to cut a variety of shapes from marzipan or sugarpaste. Making models from moulds is also a very quick type of decoration. Figures, animals, drapes, and all types of models can be made from marzipan or sugarpaste. Sugarpaste can be too soft for modelling, so either blend some flowerpaste into it or add CMC (a gum additive) one teaspoonful to 250g, wrap tightly in a plastic bag and leave for an hour or two to allow the gum to work before using.

To prevent the paste sticking women's jackets , lightly dust the surface, of the paste and the mould with icing sugar. Make sure the paste is crack free by kneading it slightly before using, then press firmly into the mould. Cut away any excess paste, knock out of the mould carefully and leave to dry in a warm area. To secure the models in place use Sugar Glue or soften down a knob of sugarpaste with a drop or two of water

Company Executive Bitten By TV Bug

Alexis works for one of the largest chemical manufacturers in North America. She is privileged to sensitive information and company trade secrets. The company has been testing in new areas of production. They hope to soon unveil some new products to the world which will revolutionize many aspects of life. For now, everything about these new products are secret.

If key components of the technology were to get out, it would ruin the competitive edge the company possesses. It would also place them in a dire financial position. Only a few people have access to the information. In her position Alexis is allowed access to most company information.

She has never had a problem keeping the company secrets. She knew this was big, and many would be after the information. They would stop at nothing to get it. The time to unveil the new technology was drawing near and she was becoming anxious. There was tension throughout the company.

Deadlines became increasingly important. Alexis was feeling the stress. She started to feel like someone was watching her on every turn. She knew the company had tight security, so she dismissed it as her own paranoia. The feeling increased. She even started to have that feeling at home. Alexis knew that her apartment complex was secure.

Anybody that entered the building underwent rigorous inspection. Alexis had always felt comfortable at home, but her intuition told her that something was going on. She knew she was definitely a person of interest to all who might want to harm the company. She needed to relax. She felt it was time to treat herself to something new for all the hard work.

She figured this would relieve some of the anxiety. She decided to buy herself the new plasma television she always wanted. There was no better time to get it. Besides, it would periodically take her mind off work. She knew exactly which one she wanted. One day on her way from work, she stopped by the electronics store and chose the TV she wanted. It would be delivered the nextday.

She went home and let building security know that she was having a television delivered the next day. She gave them all the pertinent information. The television was delivered and underwent the usual sec women's coats urity scrutiny. A few weeks passed. The company heads were concerned there might be a security leak.

They were seeing other companies start to introduce technology that they innovated. They told all the leaders to be careful. Alexis knew the drill. She was sure she was not the leak. To be on the safe side, she decided to have some security guys from company security scan her apartment for anything unusual. They brought all sorts of sophisticated equipment with them. They performed the scan.

What they found shocked Alexis. Inside the new plasma TV was a camera and several listening devices. They had been planted between the time Alexis bought the TV and the time it was delivered. Security investigated the electronics store but found nothing to link them to a crime.

The delivery driver did say he was stopped by the police on his was to deliver the TV. He said, they did an extensive search of his vehicle but they let him go. He remembered it took a long time. They police must have been impostors and planted the devices when they stopped the truck. Alexis had the Television removed and destroyed.

We all like to think that our home is private. With todays technology that privacy maybe in jeopardy. Be aware of your surroundings you never know who might be watching listening. By all means do not ignore your intuition. If you feel something is wrong you are probably right.

How to Apply Nail Polish

?

While we all may think we know the basics of applying nail polish, there are plenty of tips and tricks on how to apply it in a way to achieve professional looking results in the comfort of your own home. You will no longer have to pay for an expensive manicure. Instead, just use a little time, practice and dedication to get beautiful results every time you apply your own nail polish!?

Before you begin applying nail polish, you will need a few basic tools to complete your self-manicure.? Make sure that you have in front of you nail polish and nail polish remover, just in case you make a mistake.? You will also want to have a cuticle stick, an emery board, a cotton balls, cuticle oil, hand and nail moisturizers, and a cuticle trimmer.? These tools will help you apply nail polish beautifully each time.

Set aside some time when you decide to paint your nails.? Try not to answer the phone or touch too many things while your nails are drying.? If you follow these steps and allow your nail polish to set and dry properly, your manicure will last a lot longer.

Before applying a new coat of nail polish, be sure to remove all old nail polish completely.? Even if you cannot see it because it may have worn off, do a quick once over with some nail polish remove to make sure you have removed all remnants. ?Your manicure will not come out nicely if you are covering old nail polish with new nail polish.? The nail polish remover that you choose should ideally be acetone and alcohol free as to not dry out your nails. Dry nails make nail polish chip more easily.

After you have removed all the old nail polish, it is time for cuticle oil.? Brush the cuticle oil onto your cuticles and then massage it in.? Massaging the cuticle oil in ensures that they receive as much moisture as possible.? It also stimulates nail growth by increasing blood flow to the fingertip.? If you do not have any cuticle oil, olive oil (or any edible oil) is a good alternative.? Leave the oil on as you file the nails, to soften them and make it easier.

Filing your nails is a good way to shape your fingernails.? Always be sure to file in one direction to prevent jagged and flaky edges.? The shape you should aim for should be your nail鈥檚 natural shape.? Some have rounded nails naturally while others have squared nails.

After you have applied the cuticle oil and filed your nails, give your hands a wash.? This removes any residue from the nail polish remover as well as dust from t women's coats he filing.? Clean hands ensure that your nail polish will come out smooth and beautiful.

Once your hands are washed it is time to clean up your cuticles.? Start by soaking your fingertips in warm water for about 10-15 minutes.? This will soften the skin of you cuticles.? If you do not want to cut your cuticles, you can simply push them back or use chemical cuticle remover.? While you are cleaning up your cuticles, take a moment to get rid of any hang nails as well.? Carefully trim them off with your cuticle cutter or nail scissors. ?If there is any oil left on your hands, give your hands another wash and make sure they are completely dry before you apply nail polish.?

When you are ready to paint your nails, give the nail polish a good shake and open it up.? You should always wipe the brush on the lip of the bottle to make sure that there is not too much.? Instead of one single thick layer of nail polish, do several thinner coats.? The layers of thin coats will last longer than one thick coat.?

As you paint your nails, make sure to leave your hand as flat as possible.? You should be able to paint the entire nail in about 3 strokes, starting in the center and completing each side.? Be sure not to paint your skin or cuticles.? Allow the first layer to dry completely before applying the next layer of nail polish.

After you have applied two or three coats of nail polish you may find that as hard as you tried, you still have a little polish on the skin around your nails.? This can be easily removed with a cotton swab or wrap a small piece of cotton wool. Dip into nail polish remover and carefully wipe around your finger nail removing polish from your skin. Just be careful not to bump your freshly painted fingernail!

Feeding Your New Puppy

The basic principle to be understood in the feeding of dogs is that, with only minor variations, they have the same nutritive requirements as man. A dog apparently has less need for starches, and its digestive juices do not handle fatty foods well. Thus, the dog's meat should always be quite lean, otherwise it will commonly cause a stomach upset with symptoms of vomiting and diarrhea.

The best foods for the dog are milk, meat, and vegetables. Most dogs will enjoy milk and digest it readily. Some breeds, however, such as the Boston Terrier, often do not seem to be able to handle milk and will vomit it. Where this occurs, milk should naturally be avoided.

But with most breeds this difficulty will not be encoun women's coats tered. With a little experience the individual dog owner can determine what the situation is with his particular animal.

In regard to meat: beef, lamb, or horsemeat are generally considered best, while pork is usually not recommended. Lamb or horsemeat are best served cooked, while beef may be fed either cooked or raw.

Whether meat is fed cooked or raw depends both on convenience to the owner and on the preference of the animal. It will make no difference, however, to the health of the dog which way the food is fed.

As far as vegetables are concerned, most dogs generally handle them quite well. However, as with milk, the owner will have to determine on the basis of actual experience which vegetables the animal prefers or which it can properly digest.

In most cases, diced lettuce and tomatoes will be found to be the most readily accepted.

Dog owners often raise the question of the egg requirements for their dogs, mentioning that they have heard somewhere that the feeding of eggs will encourage a glossy coat.

This belief is incorrect. Vigorous dogs that are properly cleaned and groomed will have glossy coats whether or not they have ever been fed eggs. Unhealthy dogs, or those that are improperly cleaned or groomed, will not have a good, shiny coat no matter how often eggs are fed.

Eggs, however, are a perfectly wholesome food for dogs and are an excellent source of protein. But, since meat and milk are equally rich in this nutrient and are generally cheaper, eggs are usually considered to be a good, though uneconomical, supplementary food for dogs.

As for the tremendous variety of dry or canned commercial dog foods, most animals will get along perfectly well on them, though it is often suggested by the most competent authorities that the best results will be obtained if dog foods are fed only in combination with fresh foods.

Great strides have been made in the improvement of commercial dog foods in recent years. Their formulae are specially prepared by trained scientists to meet all of the dog's needs, and all nationally known brands are guaranteed by the federal government, on the basis of careful experiment, to furnish normal maintenance diets.

This means that the dog can live its entire life without eating anything but dog food. For those owners within the low income brackets, or those with the very large breeds, the feeding of dog food exclusively would certainly be the most economical method and, as far as the dog is concerned, such a diet is quite adequate.

How To Refinish Your Kitchen

If you love your kitchen appliances or if you just don't want to, or can't afford to replace them, consider porcelain refinishing to give your kitchen a new look. Giving your major appliance a new finish can make it look new or almos women's coats t new.

Why replace a perfectly good Avocado refrigerator or Coppertone stove just because color trends have changed? Face is most appliances, particular the older models, were built to last for years. But they also have ceramic and enameled parts. These can easily chip, warp or rust. Even the best of models will fade over the years.

Appliance refinishing consists of resurfacing the porcelain finish into a newer durable color. Consider refinishing your appliances to give an older, or even antique model a new stylish look. Replace a few fixtures or knobs, and along the way you can save some money.

You can have your appliances professionally refinished. But you can also save money by doing it yourself. For the most part all it takes is a good cleaning and a paint sprayer.

If you want to take on the project of refinishing your home appliances, here are a few simple steps to follow.

The appliance should be moved to a good working area, such as a garage where you have good light and ventilation.

Clean all the surfaces of the appliance you are wishing to refinish. Use dish soap, water and a good scrubber. This is important because the paint will not adhere to a surface that is dirty or greasy. Rinse well with a sponge and water, then towel dry. You'll want the appliance to be completely dry before you begin the paint process.

Using plastic sheeting build a paint booth around your appliance. Carefully mask off all the sides and the floor. If you're refinishing more than one appliance, make sure the appliance is accessible from all sides.

Wearing safety gloves and eye protection, use acetone to wipe down the appliance. This will remove any remaining residues on the appliances.

Using medium grade the fine grade sandpaper completely sand the appliance. Give special attention to any areas covered with rust. Use a shop-vac to get rid of all the dust. Wipe the unit down with rags. You don't want any remaining dust to mar the surface.

Where you can, remove handles, glass, knobs, logos, and any other area that should not be painted. Carefully mask off any areas that should not be painted. That includes any metal surfaces not intended for porcelain paint.

Apply a rust inhibitor, or a rust converter for stoves and a primer recommended by the manufacturer of your appliance.

Use a paint sprayer to paint the appliance. Be sure to follow the manufacturers' instructions on the paint sprayer to get the right mixture and pressure for painting. You can use spray cans for your appliances, but you run the risk of a less professional appearance on your appliance.

Give the appliance at least three to four thin coats of paint. Make sure you are using the specialty paints designed fro appliances and designed for high temperatures. That's not the cans of paint you can pick up easily at the big box store. They may carry what you need, but do your homework and get the right pain.

Don't spray heavy coats of paint on the appliance because the paint will have a tendency to run and mar the finish. If you are painting a stove, you'll want to add a coat of clear to achieve a glossy finish.

Painting may take you several days. Each coat of paint should be allowed to dry thoroughly before applying the next coat. That could be 2-3 days for a refrigerator and up to 5-8 for a stove.

Men's Style Guide: How to Buy Topcoats

Layering is a crucial skill of style, especially during these winter seasons. Colder climes are as good a motivation as any for you to make your fashions cozier and more weather-proof. Topcoats become an essential fashion piece in winter not just because it gives you added insulation, but because it does so without interrupting your office wardrobe. If you don't have one of your own or want to replace it, here's what you should be looking for.

Trim Topcoats Rule
It's true that the topcoat is the final layer in your business outfit, so it's also true that it has to be able to accommodate all the other layers you wear under it. What's not true, however, is that you have to get a size bigger than the one you usually get for the coat to fit over all your layers. Coat makers already take your extra clothes into account when they cut the fabric; an ill fit just means that you have a unique body type and need a tailor.

A great topcoat fits much like a great suit. The shoulders are contoured to your own - in this case to the shoulders of your suit. There's a full chest and a slight cinching at the waist and it falls straight down instead of billowing out from there. See to it that the coat itself ends just above your knees so you don't end up masquerading as some noir PI.

When in doubt, remember the principles of minimalist men's fashion: minimize excess fabric on your pieces. Not only does extra cloth mean a size too big (or a trip to the tailor for you), b women's jackets ut it makes even the priciest coat or most luxurious fabric unsightly.

Camel Cool
There are two kinds of camel topcoats in men's fashion: there's the camel hair variety, which has all the wrong associations with upholstery, and then there's the camel colored kind. Look for the latter if you're the guy in the office who likes his style to stand out. In a sea of blacks and navy, few things stand out yet remain so understated like a coat in a camel color.

You've done it with your canvas bags. You've probably done it with your leather lace-ups. This season, it's time to do it with your topcoat. Pick up a camel colored topcoat using the rules of fit above and then pair it with any dark suit like one in charcoal gray or dark blue. It gives your outfit some fashion magazine-worthy contrast, while at the same time ensuring that you catch everyone's eye at the office lobby.

If you haven't noticed yet, camel hair and camel colored coats are very, very different. The latter - the variety you should get - is being made today with a variety of fabrics. Although there are some camel hair blends available, you could also get yours in more traditional wool or luxurious cashmere so that it feels better to the skin.

Double breasted topcoats place a much greater premium on a trim cut because there's a big possibility that there's too much fabric in there. That's why you may want to look in the boutiques of more well-known fashion labels to find better fits. And to add a more imposing look to those double rows of buttons, find a coat with an exaggerated lapel and collar. It heightens that strong yet rebellious appeal of the double breasted style.

If you know how to find a suit, then you're familiar with most of the process of finding a topcoat. The basic rules are the same, only you'll be looking in a different department of the men's section, that, and the fact that you could be paying up to three times more than the average suit. But then again, quality never came cheap to begin with.
